Let's work through it together

About Me
Through my study of Psychology at university, I became aware of a tendency to pathologise the experience of being human, which, for me, did not fully embrace the breadth and depth that this brings.

This awareness ignited a life long quest to understand what it is to be human, and to consider what capacities make us unique as individuals and connect or unite us as a community of people across the globe.

This question led me to various trainings and work with children of different ages and circumstances, with the wish to discover how we learn and develop, and how we can best express who we are in the world.

My journey extended to include many years devoted to nurturing a family, and laterally to the field of adult education as a counsellor, qualifying in 2013 in Psychophonetics. I am currently a member of IAPP (International Association of Psychophonetics Practitioners).

Alongside counselling I currently run parent and child groups in Stroud.

Psychophonetics offers an experiential approach to counselling and personal development, respecting the uniqueness of each person’s inner and outer experiences. This approach fosters the potential to become  the creator of your own meaning and healing in light of your life circumstances and choices. Through creating an empathic listening space, it becomes possible to sense into the intuitive wisdom of the body, leading to empowerment and access to inner resources.  Exploration begins with conversation and may include an expressive process involving visualisation, gesture and sound.
Psychophonetics counsellors work in partnership with each person when exploring their experiences, thoughts, feelings and actions, leading towards new perspectives and orientation.

I remember very well that your compassion and expertise helped to unstick a very sticky issue I was grappling with. You were woman of the hour just when you were needed. I will always remember your timely help.

I want to thank Anne for the session we did together, as her grace, skill and clarity helped me to understand the ‘noise’ and its many faces, and the purposes it has served throughout my life; I felt safe doing this in the session due to Anne’s capability, and her insight into the human experience. The ‘action phase’ fortified me in a way I haven’t experienced with other therapies. After the session it feels like I have taken a developmental step forwards, which has given me confidence in my ability to develop again and again. I feel I have regained some dignity since the session, which was re-created with Anne, and then recreated by myself in the period after the session

Anne has great integrity and understanding of humanity and a wonderful way of holding a safe space for individuals to explore and discover different aspects of themselves through a variety of fun and interesting drama and movement exercises. At the timeI did the workshops I was going through a period of uncertainty and change and I discovered the art of listening and hearing what others had to say. It gave me courage to follow my hearts desire and fulfill ideas that had been brewing in my imagination. Through this work I landed up creating a solo performance in remembrance of my mother and I am now running movement workshops and have created a number of films and group performances
